Mission Statement

The Paralegal Committee is dedicated to providing a venue for its members to interact with the legal community as a whole, while emphasizing ethics, education, professionalism and diversity. The Committee aims to broaden the experience of its members through the promotion of networking events and informative speakers at monthly meetings, to grow membership by taking an active role in recruiting new paralegals into the Committee through public awareness, and to support the continuing education and effective utilization of paralegals.      

Goals for 2012-2013

• Increase paralegal membership in the DCBA
• Educate attorneys on the effective utilization of paralegals
• Provide paralegals members with access to  networking opportunities and informative speakers regarding legal education, ethics and professionalism
• Increase paralegal participation in other DCBA activities including The Bulletin and pro bono opportunities
